Dylan and Kailey leave it all on the track

A pair of fourth place finishes for Dylan and Kailey Sinast at the 2019 UIL State Track & Field Championship may add to the sibling rivalry. All joking aside, the Sinasts, representing Yorktown High School, ran two more exceptional races in the 110 and 100 meter hurdles.

Making his second trip to Austin in the past two years meant Dylan had placed even higher expectations on himself. With a goal of reaching the medal stand, he aimed to barely go above each hurdle and clipped one in his efforts, finishing in 14.85 seconds.

“I was probably gonna run my best time and get a medal,” he said after the race. “I was just trying to get so low to the hurdle that I hit it.”

Dylan pushed through, though, and still had a tremendous race.

“It means a lot to me to come out here and represent myself, represent Yorktown at the state track meet,” he said.
