It was a special day last Friday at Nordheim High School that saw eight seniors sign their letter’s of intent. Three students will be continuing both their academic and athletic careers, while the other five get ready to embrace a new academic journey.

She will be a member of the track and field team next season. “I am pretty excited. I know practices will be ran a little different so I’m interested how that will be. I went there on a visit and really liked it. Everyone was really nice, and the campus was really nice. I thought it would have been a good school to attend,” stated Wilson.

Emagen Styra signed with Texas Lutheran University where she will be continuing both her academic and athletic career. She will be a member of the track and field team next season for the Bulldogs. “I think it is a great school with a nice campus. The people there are very friendly. The athletic department and coaches were very welcoming and encouraging to me,” noted Styra on her decision.

Braylon Williams signed to attend McMurray University. Braylon plans to major in the area of business management. He will be a member of the track and field team next season with intentions of trying out for the basketball team. “Why I had picked there was mostly because of the people. The coaches and coaching staff, the administration all have been so kind to me. It helped me pick them, that’s all you can really ask for,” stated Braylon. When asked on being able to compete at the next level he mentions, “It’s really cool. I know a lot of kids don’t get this opportunity to play sports in college.”
