The Cuero Record

Playing in back-to-back games this past Thursday and Friday, the Cuero Lady Gobblers put a stamp on the regular season. After suffering a 7-3 loss on the road to Navarro on Thursday, Cuero would return home for their last game of the season. Friday’s game against La Vernia was parents/senior night. McKayla Ybarra was honored as the lone senior on a very young Lady Gobblers softball team.

In the first matchup with the Lady Bears back on April 10, the Lady Gobblers needed extra innings to take home a 9-6 victory. La Vernia would strike for 11 runs in the first four innings on Friday putting Cuero in too big of a hole to climb out of. The game concluded with a 12-7 loss which results in a two-way tie for the #2 seed coming out of District 27-4A.

Offensively, Bromli Watson and Camdyn Lange would each go 3-4 on the night at the plate. Watson added two singles and a double and drove in three runs. In her last three games played, Watson has now driven in a total of 13 runs.
