The Cuero Record

As if there wasn’t already enough momentum to carry over for next season, the Cuero Lady Gobblers have an abundance of post-season All-District awards to tack on. After the District 27-4A All-District selections had been announced, 11 Lady Gobblers were honored for their play out on the diamond. 15 were named to the Academic All-District team.

A team full of youth, Cuero had four sophomores earn first-team honors. Leading the pack, Bromli Watson was named offensive MVP after a dynamic season at the plate. During her seven district contests, Watson slashed a .560 batting average totaling 14 hits. She hit three home runs and was an RBI machine with 16 runs driven in. Camdyn Lange would earn first-team infield after playing the hot corner at third base. During the Lady Gobblers’ seven district contests, she totaled 12 hits and put together an impressive .571 batting average. Usually, in the clean-up spot behind Watson, Lange totaled four home runs while adding 6 RBIs. Another first-team selection out in left field was Camdyn Apodackis. The sophomore drove in four runs, hit one homer, and had a .308 on-base percentage. She totaled six hits through district play, three going for extra bases. Coming in at the final first-team selection was another sophomore Abigail Aguilar who was named first-team designated hitter. Aguilar reached base at a .357 clip, driving in five runs. She had a total of six hits, all coming via the single.
