The Cuero Football team competed in the 7x7 State Tournament at the Veterans Park and Athletic Complex in College Station.

Coach Jack Alvarez commented that, “they played as well as they’ve been playing all spring.”

On Thursday, June 24, the Gobblers won against Chapel Hill High School (32-12) and Jim Ned High  School (21-7) and lost against LBJ High School (20-27).

Friday, June 25, was the last day for the Gobblers where they came up short against China Spring (14-35). Senior, Adam Arroyo said, “there was a lot of good competition there.”

With teams like Jim Ned, who recently won the Texas 3A, Division 1 State Championship in 2020 participating in the tournament, this experience gave the football boys good competition to set the tone for this upcoming season.
