Gobblers fight to the very end
Cuero’s baseball season ended in heartbreaking fashion in the area round of playoffs. The Gobblers came back from being down 1-0 in the best-of-three series and overcame a three run deficit in game three to force extra innings. Robstown came out on top, though, 7-6, in nine innings.
Jeremiah Diaz brought Cuero within one in the fifth inning of game three with a triple which scored Garrett Armondo. Diaz tied the game on a wild pitch.
In extra innings, Cuero went on top in the eighth before the Cotton Pickers tied it and won in walk-off fashion.
