The Cuero Record

As the Gobbler baseball season quickly approaches its final stretch, there are still seven games remaining to be played. Cuero will finish out the non-district slate at Ingleside this Friday before opening district play Monday, April 11, in Navarro.

With District 27-4A only consisting of four teams, all four have already been guaranteed a spot in the UIL state playoffs. The most crucial aspect to a playoff run is seeding which will be determined by district record. The best district record will receive a one seed while the worst receives a fourth seed and draws the one seed out of the nearest district.

For game action this past week Cuero saw Pleasanton come to town last Tuesday, March 29. Losing 6-1 in seven innings, the Eagles would put up five runs to start the first that put Cuero in to big of a hole to climb out of. Limiting the damage, Dylan Mills gave the Gobblers a solid outing going six and two/thirds innings only allowing one earned run. Bishop Whitt would score the lone run for Cuero on a Caleb Nagel RBI single in the third.
