The Cuero Record

With just two games left remaining on the schedule the Gobblers have a big week of baseball as they quickly approach the postseason. This past week, Cuero suffered two district losses to La Vernia on Tuesday and Friday. The losses slide the Gobblers to 1-3 in district play, currently in the third spot in the district standings. Being in only a four-team district has already guaranteed Cuero a spot in the playoffs with seeding starting to come into play.

This week the Gobblers will face the Gonzales Apaches at home on Tuesday, April 26, with the first pitch at 7 p.m. They will then travel to Gonzales on Friday to close out the regular season. If Cuero takes one game from Gonzales they have secured no less than the #3 seed for the playoffs. With a little help from the La Vernia Bears we could see a possible two-way tie for the #2 seed. For that to happen La Vernia would need to take both games from Navarro.

Cuero looks for much-needed momentum this week as the season comes to a close.
