Gobblers realigned to hill country

The University Interscholastic League (UIL) announced 2018-2020 reclassification and realignment for football, basketball and volleyball Thursday, Feb. 1. Cuero High School will remain at the Conference 4A level in all sports and 4A-Division II for football but with in a shift in travel arrangements.

Gobbler football was realigned to District 13 in Region 4 with rivals Geronimo Navarro and Wimberley, along with Austin Eastside Memorial, Bandera and Llano.

“I was really surprised that they put us in the hill country district because of travel,” Cuero head football coach/athletic director Travis Reeve said. “We traditionally haven’t been in their district.”
