Kitty Kat and Wildcat All-District Honors

The District 31-2A Girls All-District Selections have been released and after completing the season as district tri-champions, the Yorktown Kitty Kats were very well represented. Receiving Academic All-District honors were: Laynie Boyd, Braleigh Dodds, Sydnie Krueger, Kaley Lassmann, Seely Metting, Madison Morehead, Kaylee Parker, Aubrie Ruppert, and Kendyll Sinast. Honorable Mention All-District selections were junior Dakielynn Campbell and senior Kaley Lassman. Second Team All-District selections were junior Emie Bolting, freshman Laynie Boyd, and freshman Braleigh Dodds. First Team All-District selections were freshman Sydnie Krueger and junior Ayana Longoria. Senior Seely Metting was named the District 31-2A MVP for the second straight year. The Kitty Kats finished the year 23-13 and won their third straight Bi-District Championship, by defeating Riviera Kaufer 60-40. Yorktown was defeated in the Area Round by San Saba. San Saba won the region championship and was defeated at the state tournament by eventual state champion, Gruver.

The District 31-2A Boys All-District selections were released and several Wildcats received honors. Academic All-District honors went to Drew Alexander. Junior Blake Boyd was named Honorable Mention All-District. Seniors Konnor Sullivan and Seth Hahn were named 2nd Team All-District. Senior Kalen Barefield was named 1st Team All-District. Senior Drew Alexander was named District Offensive Player of the Year for the third straight year.
