Kitty Kats continue to struggle in district

The Yorktown Kitty Kats district woes continued this past week as they lost two very close games, 26-21, to Brazos and 39-35 to Shiner. The losses drop the Kitty Kats to 12-11 on the season and 2-5 in district. They are currently tied with Brazos in fourth place for the final playoff spot. On Tuesday, Yorktown made the two hour drive to Wallis to face the Brazos Cougarettes. The first quarter was a defensive struggle and ended in a 4-4 tie. In the second quarter, Brazos outscored the Kitty Kats, 16-10, to take a 20-14 halftime lead. The second half saw both teams struggle to score, as Yorktown outscored the Cougarettes, 7-6, for the 26-21 final score.
