On Tuesday, Sept. 28, the Kitty Kats traveled to Nordheim for their district matchup against the Lady Pirates. Yorktown would clean sweep their opponent, winning 25-17, 25-14, and 25-19. Senior Kaylee Parker credits their strengths to this year’s team, “having fun on the court and being good at communicating.”

Coach Gomez was excited about her team’s level of play.  She stated, “The team came in and played well, giving us the opportunity to play some of our younger kids. It was nice for them to see the floor and get some experience.” According to the Texas High School Girls Coaches Association (TGCA) poll, the Kitty Kats have recently been ranked as high as 13th. When questioned about their ranking, Kendyll Sinast stated, “We are proud and can’t wait to keep working hard in practice.” Stat highlights include MaKenna Preslar leading the team with a perfect kill percentage, followed by Jackie Gwosdz with .600%, Parker with .500%, and Seely Metting with .375%.
