Kitty Kats gain win against Pettus

The Kitty Kat volleyball team traveled to Pettus on Tuesday, Sept. 21 to face off against the Lady Eagles. Pettus were 1-2 in district play with a win against Austwell Tivoli. They have recorded losses against Refugio and Bloomington.

The Kitty Kats were coming into the match undefeated. Yorktown would be quick to capture the win in game one, winning 25-8. Yorktown would win game two by another large margin, 25-13.  The third match would be a win for the Kitty Kats, but they would have a harder time grasping the win.   

They would eventually win, 25-22.  MaKenna Preslar and Emie Bolting would contribute after-game comments. Boltings commented on the close game three, “Tonight we came out as a solid team and kept a positive attitude even when the game got tight.” Preslar credited the team’s success to their quick offense and how well the team gets along, “Our quick offense has improved from last season. This year’s team has bonded together helping us to have great team chemistry.”
