Kitty Kats Improve to 4-0

The Yorktown Kitty Kats continued their hot start to the season this past week with wins over Goliad and Kenedy. On Tuesday, Nov. 19, Yorktown traveled to Goliad to face the Tigerettes. After falling behind early 6-1, the Kitty Kats responded and led for the majority of the game. Goliad took a 28-27 lead with 1:30 remaining in the game, but the Kitty Kats quickly regrouped, finishing the game on 6-0 run to give them the victory 33-28.
Seely Metting had a double-double with 19 points and 13 rebounds, while Katelyn Dodds finished with eight points and eight steals. Kailey Sinast also added six points. On Friday night, Nov. 22, the Kitty Kats faced the Kenedy Leopards in their first home game of the season. Behind a solid defensive performance, Yorktown held Kenedy to seven first half points and led at halftime 27-7.
Yorktown continued to be active defensively in the second half, which led them to a 52-15 victory. Metting had 26 points along with nine steals; Sinast scored 11 points along with three blocked shots. Dodds added seven points and 11 rebounds, while Jasmine Rodriguez grabbed seven rebounds to pair with four points. Yorktown improves to 4-0 on the year, and will face Woodsboro at home on Nov. 26.
