Kitty Kats' season ends
Special to the Yorktown News-View
Yorktown traveled to Weimar to play the Ganado Maidens in their Bi-District playoff game on Thursday, April 29. The Kitty Kats couldn’t have had a better start to the evening as lead-off batter, Caylyn Boehm, singled to right. Prior to Kailey Sinast being walked, Boehm would steal second. An error by the Maiden’s second baseman resulted in the batter reaching third bringing in two runs for the Kitty Kats. Unfortunately, runners were left stranded on first and third.
On the mound for the Kitty Kats would be senior, Sinast. She would be playing a familiar role, as she has been the pitcher with this group of teammates since her days in little league. This would be an extra special night for her. She is a senior, it’s a playoff game, she’s in a premier role, and she gets the unique experience of having her aunt as the head coach. Any one of those individual things makes the night special, but those combined plus throwing in that it was her birthday was sure to make the night memorable for her.
