Kitty Kats win third straight

Before taking a Thanksgiving break, the Yorktown Kitty Kats traveled to Flatonia this past Monday, November 22, 2021, to take on the Lady Bulldogs. Yorktown came away with a 47-31 win to extend its winning streak to three games.

The first quarter was back and forth with the lead changing hands seven times until the Kitty Kats pulled ahead 11-9 at the end of the quarter. Both teams scored six points in the second quarter, Yorktown led 17-15 at the half. The Kitty Kats opened up the game in the third quarter, as they scored the first six points of the half to take a 23-15 lead. For the remainder of the period, the teams battled back and forth with Yorktown moving ahead 32-25. In the final period, the Kitty Kats outscored Flatonia, 15-6, for the 47-31 final score. Senior Seely Metting posted her 3rd double of the season with 28 points and 11 rebounds to go along with eight steals and five assists. Junior Ayana Longoria continued to play a major role in the Kitty Kat offense and defense, as she had 10 points, nine deflections and four steals. Senior Kaley Lassmann and juniors Emie Bolting and Kie Campbell all had five rebounds.
