Lack of energy costs Gobblers

Following back-to-back district wins for the first time this season over San Antonio Brooks Academy and Gonzales, Cuero dropped off during last week’s game against La Vernia, falling 80-35. Energy was a point of emphasis for coach Will Mathews following the loss. “It was really our mood and the energy we brought into the game,” he said. “The other games, we came out with fire.” At halftime, Tory Love noticed that difference which is definitely a step in the right direction.
