Lady Gobblers defeat Gonzales

Only one day after signing a college volleyball scholarship, Ainsley Reeve showed her athletic abilities on the softball field, as she helped lead Cuero to a district win over Gonzales, 16-9.

Reeve produced four hits, including a double and drove in six runs on the night. “It really sets off how we’re going to play this district,” Reeve said after the win improved Cuero to 2-1 in district play.

“It also shows us what we need to work on, some positives and some negatives.” Individually, Reeve knows she had a good night but gives the credit for her success to her team.

“I was very pleased, but I couldn’t have done it without my teammates and them cheering me on,” she said.
