In only her second game back from a broken hand, junior pitcher Ariel Diaz displayed an exceptional outing. Cuero didn’t allow a single run to score over the first six frames and held on for a 5-4 win, which improved their district record to 6-4.

The game was deadlocked over the first several innings before sophomore Kaidence Dolan came through with a hit to put Cuero on top midway through the game. “Their defense made several big mistakes and that cost them,” Miller said. “With the speed we have and the ability to execute, that’s kind of our game plan. We’ve been doing that well.”
