LET'S MAKE A RUN FOR IT
The Yorktown High School boys and girls cross country teams ran in their first meet this year at the 31st Annual Moulton Cross Country Meet. In the girls 1A-2A division, sophomore Brooke Turner was the lone medalist, as she placed 19th out of 83 runners in a time of 14:54. Freshman Carlie Villarreal placed 63rd, while sophomore Kaley Lassmann was 68th. The Kitty Kats placed 9th overall out of 14 schools who participated. In the boys 1A-2A division, senior Levi Romans finished 60th out of 83, while freshman Ethan Hahn was 70th.
Following are the results from Nordheim’s cross country meet last weekend: Deric torres 6th 18:31; David Torres 21st 20:14; Braylon Williams 51th 23:04; Jakob Denton 64th 24:29; Connor metting 79th 28:46. The high school boys finished in seventh place as a team. For the high school girls, Danielle Wilson placed 64th. For the junior high girls, Abby Klein was 38th out of 170 runners. Tristan Infante led the junior high boys with an 8th place finish. The team, which also included Mason Tessmann, Sylvester Smith, Zaden Vasquez and Connly Metting, finished 12th out of 15 as a team.
