As school gets back in gear, local basketball finds high gear as the players work off the Christmas dinners.

Yorktown took to the court on January 9th for a rematch against Waelder, this time in Yorktown. The Wildcats avenged last week’s loss on the road by racking up 62 points to Waelder’s 49. On Friday, the Wildcats played host to Shiner for their first district game. The Wildcats would find themselves miles ahead when the final seconds burned away, easily taking the win by a 70-28 score.

The Kitty Kats would travel to Ganado on the 5th for their second district game of the season. In a hard fought battle, the Kitty Kats would come up just short to Ganado by a score of  39-32. This week, the Kitty Kats would take Friday off to prepare for the final few games of the season.

The Nordheim Pirates would face off against Victoria Cobra Homeschool on Friday for the Nordheim Homecoming game. In a repeat of the game earlier this between the two teams, Nordheim would once again prove themselves victorious by a score of 63-45.
