Seniors Drew Alexander and Kalen Barefield were selected to play in the Coastal Bend Allstar Classic held at Cabaniss Stadium. The East versus West showdown of 1A - 6A Football Allstars was in Corpus Christi on Saturday, May 21. Both athletes would shine on the field and showcase their athletic abilities for a final time as Wildcats. The two teams consisted of players from all around. A few of the schools include Cal Allen, Victoria East and West, Calhoun, Sinton, Corpus Christi Ray, Odem, Beeville, Tuloso Midway, Miller, Veterans Memorial, Flour Bluff, Kingsville, Orange Grove, West Oso, Falfurrias, Alice, Ingleside, London, Cuero and Yorktown. The East would be coached by the Ingleside staff while the West would be coached by San Diego. Each player took to the field wearing their high school’s jersey but many of the players played in helmets collaged with several of their teammates' helmet decals displayed on their helmets.

The West would score first with a field goal. However, a 20-yard throw was snagged out of the air by Barefield helping march the East team downfield. A 15-yard rush by a Yoakum teammate put the team on the one-yard line. With 7:36 still left to play, Barefield would catch the one-yard pass in the end zone to score the first touchdown of the night. The extra point would be successful putting team East ahead, 7-3. The team would never surrender the lead the entire rest of the game. With 2:14 left in the half, a timeout was called by West. They were in a fourth and one situation on the 32-yard line. They would get the first down but with 1:23 left the ball would go over on downs. With little time left to go and a lot of distance to cover with the ball on the thirty, Alexander connected with David Karl from Gregory Portland on a 30-35 yard pass.  With 39 seconds left on the clock, the lead would be extended as Alexander threw a 20-25 yard pass to an open receiver for a touchdown, 14-3.
