Resiliency was theme for 2017 Gobbler baseball

Gobbler baseball concluded their 2017 season with a trip to the area finals, falling to Robstown in three hard-fought games. Cuero finished the regular season in a four-way tie for first in District 30-4A with Beeville, Pleasanton and Somerset.

If there could only be one word to describe this season’s team, head coach Phil Schwarz would go with resilience.

“These guys had some adversity, whether it was injuries or whatever the case may be, a tough loss, just the way they always seemed to fight back,” Schwarz noted. “They always seemed to overcome certain obstacles. I think that’s the thing that impressed me the most.”
