Simpson finds life lessons in softball

Though her college softball career has come to a close, Audrey Simpson isn’t quite ready to give up the game she has loved since she was a young girl in Cuero.
The 2015 graduate of Cuero High School recently wrapped up her time at Howard Payne University, earning a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing, while also learning from what softball had to offer. The friends made along the way come to mind immediately for Simpson, who noted the long days spent honing her craft as a collegiate athlete.
“When you are playing a sport in college, you are around those girls at all times of the day,” she said.
Starting at 5 a.m. with workouts through 8 p.m. study halls, she was always around her teammates.
“The girls that I met will always be a big part in my life no matter where we all go,” Simpson added.
