Sinast hurdles the competition

With her sights set on a third state track meet appearance in four years, not counting last year because of covid, Yorktown’s Kailey Sinast had a day to remember at last Saturday’s regional meet in Kingsville. The Yorktown senior won two gold medals in both hurdling events. She opened the day with a win in the 100 meter hurdles in 15.03 seconds, defeating Kaylee Price of Harper by .56 seconds. She followed that up with a dominant win of nearly one second over Price in the 300 hurdles with Sinast finishing in 46.01 seconds.

“It felt really good to be back, especially after a year of being gone,” Sinast said after her win the 100 hurdles. “I felt like I had nothing to do, so I knew I had to come back and do better.
