Parent’s night 2017 did not disappoint for the Cuero High School class of 2018. Cuero not only notched their third consecutive district shutout victory, 69-0, over Ingleside, but they also ensured at least a share of the district championship.
Playing in his final game at Gobbler Stadium, senior quarterback Drew Riemenschneider compiled 232 passing yards and four touchdowns on the night, connecting with Jordan Whittington for two and finding Trent Haynes and De’andre Lang for the other two.
“Our kids just really played well,” head coach Travis Reeve noted after the game. “It was our last home game for our seniors. It was parent’s night, so there was a lot of special meaning to this. We had an opportunity to clinch a share of the district championship, which we did, or at least a share of it. I thought it was overall a great team effort. A lot of kids were involved. All of them played really well.”
