Wildcat basketball season opens

The Wildcats opened up their season against the McMullen Cowboys. They were strong competition and are currently ranked fifth in the state according to the UIL poll. The final score was 28-81. Stats include Drew Alexander 23 points, Cesar Sarmiento 3 points, Seth Hahn 2 points.

To conclude the week, the Wildcats participated in the Nordheim Tournament.  They defeated Austwell Tivoli 75-18. Stats include Alexander 21 points, Konnor Sullivan 19 points, Hahn 9 points, Cade Martin 8 points, Dalton Eckhardt 6 points, Blake Boyd 4 points, Sarmiento 2 points.

Next, the Wildcats lost to Nordheim 38-46. Nordheim’s stats include Garcia 15 points, Williams 13 points, Tessman 7 points, Schuenemann 6 points, Metting 3 points. Yorktown stats include Alexander 23 points, Eckhardt 9 points, Martin 2 points, Boyd 2 points.
