Wildcats continue winning streak
The Yorktown Wildcats boys basketball have been gelling of late and are making noise in District 29-2A, per coach Jeremy Bailey. Last week, they posted wins over Louise, 76-60, and Flatonia, 60-59. Corey Pargmann led the Wildcats with 19 points against Louise, while Chris Johnson and Dane Webb combined for 31. Webb was the leading scorer against Flatonia with 22 points, followed by Josh Garcia with 19. Heading into Tuesday night’s pivotal contest against Weimar, the Wildcats are 5-2 in the district, putting them tied for second place with Flatonia, one game behind Weimar. On Friday, Yorktown will play Brazos, who’s currently in fourth place.
