Wildcats dominate Yellowjackets

Jumping out to a 28-0 lead at halftime, the Yorktown Wildcats picked up their first win of the season in dominating fashion last Friday night on the road against the Runge Yellowjackets.
Senior running back Zack Latta opened the scoring with a 12-yard rush, finishing the night with eight carries for 54 yards and two scores, and the Wildcats never looked back, winning 47-6.
Yorktown head coach John David Caffey was surely impressed with his team’s nearly balanced attack. The Wildcats accounted for 228 rushing yards and another 287 through the air.
Quarterbacks Drew Alexander and Mark Guerrero provided the two-headed attack with three touchdowns between them.
Kalen Barefield remained their top receiver through the early part of this season, notching touchdown catches of 48 and 55 yards, one from each Yorktown quarterback.
