Trailing 25-16 with 3:39 remaining in the half, Yorktown would rally on a 16-4 run to take the lead heading into the half 32-29.
Coach Bailey was proud of the effort at the end of the first half and stated, “Eventually a light switch comes on, and once that switch is on, good things happen.”
The run was led by eight points from senior Corey Pargmann and six points from junior Chris Johnson. Leading for the majority of the back and forth third quarter, the Wildcats led 46-45 headed into the fourth quarter. Waelder would tie the game at 53 with 4:02 remaining in the game, and take their first lead of the second half with two minutes left on the clock.
