Wildcats to face Bobcats
By Roger Cowan
For Western Days week, the 4-2 Yorktown Wildcats will face the 4-1 Refugio Bobcats in Yorktown.
Coming off a four game winning streak, the Wildcats will look to keep the streak alive when they face their toughest competition of the year. The Bobcats will be fresh off a 48-0 shutout of Ganado, while the Wildcats are coming off a 32-14 victory over Weimar.
True road warriors, Refugio has spent their entire season up to this point on the road. With their ability and experience being the “visitors,” home field advantage is a nonfactor in this game. Look for Yorktown to rely instead on their ruggedness at the line, and the nimble feet of the ball carriers.
Refugio has won the last three meetings of these teams. The Wildcats will be looking to put an end to that streak.
