In their season opener, the Yorktown squad traveled to Wallis Brazos to face off with the Cougars. Unfortunately, the outcome was not what they had hoped as they fell short, 6-43. The opposing sophomore Jarvis Dickerson proved hard to contain as he tallied 4 touchdowns for the night. He scored the first touchdown of the matchup on a 38 yard quarterback keeper.
