The varsity football team got off to an astounding start on Friday, Sept. 17 against the Stockdale Brahmas.  The first quarter seemed to be all about the Wildcats as they found the end zone twice while defensively stifling their opponents. De’Quan Clay would score first off a four-yard run with 9:04 left in the period. Quarterback Drew Alexander would put six more points on the scoreboard with a 3-yard run.  Andres Archuleta would have two successful kicks therefore the first period would conclude 14-0.

Stockdale would rush for their first score of the night with 11:54 left in the second period. The Wildcats immediately responded with their own touchdown, this time off a 2-yard rush from Gabe Latta. The Brahmas would score two more times before the conclusion of the second period.  Both teams would return to the locker room with the score tied, 21-21.

The lead from earlier in the game had diminished and the Wildcats would be thwarted from entering the end zone again. The third period would be uneventful as neither team scored.

In the fourth, the Wildcats would score but have it called back due to penalty. With 8:35 remaining in the game, the Brahmas would score off a long 28-yard run to go up on the Wildcats. Stockdale’s two-point conversion attempt would fail.
