Mere minutes into the game and the Wildcats had a staggering lead against district opponent, Pettus. Yorktown scored three touchdowns in the first period while their defense contained the Eagles.  In the first quarter, Gabe Latta and Kalen Barefield both rushed into the end zone and Andres Archuleta tacked on the extra points. At 5:02, Barefield ran back a 75-yard punt return to extend the lead, 21-0.

In the second period, Drew Alexander connected with DeQuan Clay on a 20-yard touchdown pass. Once again the Wildcat defense proved to be too much for the Eagles.  Yorktown would lead 28-0 at halftime.

The first part of the third quarter was uneventful as neither team scored, but the Wildcat offense would be ignited around the six-minute mark, scoring three more touchdowns. Clay would score from a long 67-yard run, Barefield would have a 25-yard interception return, and Latta would bulldoze into the end zone from five yards out.

The fourth period started with the Wildcats leading, 49-0. Jacob Guerrero would dash into the end zone on a 13-yard run to conclude the scoring of the night. The Wildcat offense would hang 56 points on the scoreboard.
