Wildcats wallop Weimar
By Roger Cowan
Friday night, the Yorktown Wildcats kicked off District Play with a huge win over the Weimar Wildcats.
After a bye week that Yorktown entered with a 3-2 non-district record and a three game win streak, the Wildcats were looking to keep the streak alive through Weimar. Yorktown made a statement from the start, scoring three times in the first fifteen minutes of the game.
Fans of the two point conversion, Yorktown attempted a pass play after faking the extra point kick following their touchdown. Though this play was unsuccessful, it was a good attempt at getting the defense to release their coverage.
Less than five minutes later, the Wildcats would again march right into the endzone. Following another failed two point conversion on a pass play, the first quarter would end with the score 12-0 in Yorktown’s favor.
