The Wildcats were first to light up the scoreboard on Friday, Oct 1 against the Woodsboro Eagles. Their lone first-quarter score came off a 14-yard pass from quarterback Drew Alexander to receiver Kalen Barefield. Andres Archuleta would tack on an extra point.

The Wildcats would score a touchdown in the second period while still shutting out the Eagles defensively through the first half. Deagan Mungia plunged into the end zone from one yard out.

The dynamic duo of Alexander and Barefield would connect once again for a second touchdown. With a little under six minutes left to play, Barefield would snag and score off a 54-yard pass from Alexander. With just over a minute left in the third period, the Eagles would get on the board scoring off of a 15-yard pass from Roger Gonzales to Layton Niemann. A pass to Morgan from Niemann would extend their score to 8.

During the fourth, DeQuan Clay would rush for a touchdown from 2 yards out. With just over 2 minutes to play, the Wildcats would score a safety when the ball was snapped out of the end zone. Alexander would lengthen the lead, scrambling for a 34-yard touchdown. In the final seconds of the game, Jacob Guerrero would score from a 25-yard fumble return. Archuleta’s kick would once again be successful.
