Yorktown All-District football announced

With the official end of the 2A season after the Championship game, All-District Honors were announced this past week. The Yorktown Wildcats had a fair amount of players honored across the roster. 

On the offensive side of the ball, Jayden Webb leads the way as First Team quarterback. Brian Metting crashes through the line as First Team running back. Jamel Wade takes home the First Team wide receiver title, with Corey Pargmann holding the First Team tight end spot. Coy Boehm and Nathan London round out the offensive line as First Team guard and tackle respectively. 

Second Team Offense honors go to Dylan Sinast as running back, with Ryan Zuniga as wide receiver. Dane Webb holds the Second Team tight end title, with Devin Leister chosen as Second Team center. Completing the line with the Second Team guard and tackle honors were Joe Flores and Martin Munoz. Ethan Queen earned Honorable Mention for his wide receiver work this year. 

On the opposite side of the ball, defensive honors were as follows. Brian Metting and Jesse Gonzales earned the 1st Team inside line backer position, with Dylan Sinast and Jayden Webb taking the 1st Team Safety spot. Corey Pargmann and Nathan London brought home the 1st Team defensive end crown. 

Martin Munoz tooks the Second Team defensive tackle spot, with Ryan Zuniga holding the Second Team outside line backer position. Ethan Queen added to his collection with an Honorable Mention for his corner back efforts. 

On Special Teams, Mason Williams took the First Team Utility player title, with Dylan Sinast claiming the Second Team punter title. Corey Pargmann was given an Honorable Mention as a defensive end for the Texas Associated Press Sports Editors All-State Team. 

The Wildcats finished their year with an 8-5 record overall, falling prey to Mason in the third round of playoffs. Mason would fall to Refugio in their next game. The Yorktown News-View would like to congratulate the Wildcats on their great season this year, and wish them continued success in all sports as the year progresses.
