The Yorktown High School Cheerleaders attended the Universal Cheerleaders Association (UCA) Cheer Camp at Texas A&M last week, accompanied by their cheer sponsor, Mendy Moreno. The girls competed in the Small Varsity Squad division and won the following awards: 1st Place Overall Squad, 1st Place Camp Dance, 2nd Place Cheer, 3rd Place Sideline, two superior Gold Ribbons and four Spirit Sticks. The Yorktown mascot Wally (Hayleigh Perez) received the Crowd Master Award. Seniors Ayana and Aubri Longoria were recipients of Pin It Forward, an award given by camp staff for excellence. The following girls were named UCA All-Americans: Brycen Allman, Aubri Longoria, Ayana Longoria, Addison Rosales, and Malayshia Thomas. The cheerleaders will be hosting the Princess Cheer Camp this week at the Yorktown High School gym for ages 3-12.
