Yorktown cross country competes in Shiner

In their last cross country meet before district, the Yorktown Cross Country teams ran in the Shiner Invitational meet held at the Greer-Dickson Park in Shiner, Texas. Brook “The Machine” Turner was the lone Yorktown medalist, as she finished in 6th place with a time of 13:20. Madison Lemke narrowly missed a medal, as she finished in 21st place. Jonathan Guerrero was the top finisher for the boys’ team, coming in 28th.

The Yorktown Cross Country teams will travel to Corpus Christi, next Monday, October 11, to participate in the District 31-2A Cross Country Meet. The meet will be held at West Guth Park. Varsity boys will run at 9 a.m., while varsity girls will run at 9:30 a.m.
