The Yorktown golf teams had a successful day at the district golf tournament on Monday, April 4. The boys and girls team competed at Gabe Lozano golf course in Corpus Christi. The top two teams would advance to regionals and the top two remaining golfers not already advancing on a team would also qualify. After a long day of golf, both teams would earn district titles. The teams would also nab both individual district champion titles. The boys' team consisting of Drew Alexander, Cameron Willis, Konnor Sullivan, Dalton Eckhardt, and Hagen Newman would win the championship with a score of 372. They would defeat Port Aransas by eleven strokes. Alexander would be declared the district champion. He would shoot a 79, while his nearest competitor turned in a 90. The Kitty Kat team consisting of Emie Bolting, DaKielynn Campbell, Brycen Allman, Ashlie Gaida, and Chesney Kaiser totaled 455.
