Yorktown Kitty Kats clinch playoff spot
By Jacob Stock
As the season approaches the end, the Yorktown Kitty Kats played in two critical home games this past week. Due up on the schedule were the Louise Lady Hornets on Tuesday, Feb. 4, and the Flatonia Lady Bulldogs on Friday, Feb. 7.
Both Louise and Flatonia defeated Yorktown when they were on the road early in district play. Playing on their home court with their season on the line and a chance at clinching a playoff spot, Yorktown’s opportunity at a little revenge brought a suspenseful finish.

Sophomore Seely Metting led Yorktown with her 23 points, while junior Katelyn Dodds added 12 points. The Kitty Kats would look to carry that momentum over to Friday night when Flatonia rolled into town. From the get-go on Friday night, Yorktown enforced their will on Flatonia.
