The Yorktown Kitty Kats and Wildcats cross country teams competed in the Moulton Invitational Cross Country Meet in Moulton, this past Saturday, Sept. 11. In the girls varsity Class 1A-2A race, senior Brooke “The Machine” Turner was the top Kitty Kat finisher in 5th place. Junior Madison Lemke, competing in her first-ever cross-country meet, was next as she narrowly missed medaling in 22nd place. The Girls Class 1A-2A girls varsity team competition was won by Shiner, currently ranked #1 in the state, while the Kitty Kats placed 5th. In the boys varsity Class 1A-2A race, sophomore Josiah Garza was the top Wildcat finisher in 32nd place, while freshman Layne Geffert placed 49th. The Yorktown Cross Country teams will next run on Sept. 25 in Goliad.
