Julio “Jules” Webb Longoria, Jr., age 94, of Albuquerque, NM, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2023, surrounded by his loving children. He was born in Cuero on Wednesday, July 11, 1928, to the late Julio and Heladia Longoria. He was married to his soulmate, Ida Reyna Longoria, for 64 years. He is preceded in death by Ida and his parents.

Jules joined the Air Force in 1946 at the young age of 17 as an enlisted serviceman, initially serving in military operations in Guam. During a break in assignments, he returned to his hometown to marry Ida Reyna in May 1950. He was later stationed at Nellis AFB in Las Vegas, NV, where his son, Richard, was born, followed by base assignments in Duluth, MN, where his daughter, Susan, was born. Other assignments were in Anchorage, AK. Jules did a year assignment in Thule, Greenland, away from his family. After returning, he was assigned to Los Angeles, CA, where his second daughter, Linda Ann, was born. His final assignment was at Vandenberg AFB, where he eventually retired in 1968 at the rank of Senior Master Sergeant.

Jules showed a natural disposition to study, and, with a strong work ethic, he managed to obtain a bachelor’s degree, followed by a JD law degree, all while helping Ida raise their children and advancing in his military career. He then embarked on a second career as a Contracts Administrator, working for several military contractors including Martin Marietta, JPL, and General Dynamics.

In 1985, after retiring from General Dynamics, Jules and Ida decided to move to Albuquerque, NM. Soon after, their daughters and families also moved to Albuquerque. This was a joy for Jules and Ida, as they were able to have their grandchildren nearby and see them grow up. Their passion was to travel all over the world, and they certainly did that. Portugal, Italy, England, and Korea are just some of the countries they visited.

Jules is survived by his son Richard Longoria and wife Diana of Solvang, CA; daughter Susan Agostini and husband Raymond of Rio Rancho, NM; and daughter Linda Ann Jensen and husband Lee of Albuquerque, NM. Jules is survived by 7 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and siblings Manuel Longoria and wife Margaret, Estella English, and Elvira Gonzales.
