Body

John C. Sudderth, 82, of Cuero passed away on Sunday, April 2, 2023. He was born December 24, 1940 in Sherman to the late Ray and Lorene Bailey Sudderth. John was a Commercial Construction Superintendent completing countless construction projects around the nation. Among some of his best projects were the Chevrolet race team dealerships up and down the east coast, as well as single handedly building the first Luther’s BBQ Restaurant in Houston. John’s leadership was respected and appreciated at every site and people loved to work for him. When John was not working, he loved hunting and fishing, covering most of the state of Texas by foot through his adventures. John married Mary Marsh on February 21, 1975 in Houston where they lived until moving in 2009. After he and Mary moved to Cuero, you could often find him at Cuero Municipal Park fishing along side the ducks, geese and squirrels he had personally named over the years.

John is survived by his beloved and devoted wife of 48 years, Mary Sudderth; daughters, Stacy Melton of Flower Mound and Susan Sudderth Nolen of Richardson; son, John C. Sudderth Jr. of Sherman; sister, Selita McManus of Cumberland, Wisconsin; brother, Joe Ray Sudderth of Waco; 11 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Ann Adair.
