Kitty Kat, Wildcat Tracksters Advance to Area

On April 4, 2024, the Yorktown Kitty Kat and Wildcat track teams competed in the District 31-2A Track Meet in Woodsboro, Texas. Besides Yorktown, the following schools competed; Kenedy, Port Aransas, Refugio, Skidmore- Tynan, Three Rivers and Woodsboro. The JV Girls won their division, while the JV Boys placed 7th. The Varsity Boys placed 2nd overall and the Varsity Girls placed 5th.

The Junior High Kitty Kat and Wildcat Track teams finished up their track season on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, at the District 31-2A Junior High Track Meet in Woodsboro, Texas. Besides Yorktown, six other schools competed at the meet: Kenedy, Port Aransas, Refugio, Skidmore-Tynan, Three Rivers and Woodsboro.

Public shares thoughts with YISD on 4 day school week

A near record crowd attended the Yorktown Independent School District meeting Monday, March 25 for their regular meeting. The board was expected to make a final decision regarding the highly debated four day school week, but tabled the decision after a closed session.

Saltwater Fishing Report

GOOD. 62 degrees. Spring is here and the weather forecast is good for fishing. Drum and redfish are best fishing the reefs with live shrimp under a popping cork, wade fishing with artificials. Cuero Special Olympians Shine in Yoakum

Two Cuero ISD Special Olympics athletes competed Friday, March 22 in the Special Olympics Track & Field Meet in Yoakum. Kellis Jackson and Braylon Williams won a Gold medal in each of their 50 meter races and each won a Silver medal in the softball throw. Kellis is a freshman at CHS and Braylon is in the 8th grade at CJHS. They were accompanied by Crystal Hamilton, Director of Special Education and Sandy Perez. Their coach is Peggy Schorre. It was a great day to be a Cuero Gobbler!
