Lady Gobblers Softball Start Season Off Strong

Your Fightin’ Lady Gobblers Varsity softball team has started out the 2024 season in dominating fashion, going 5-0-1 as of the writing of this story. They began the season with an 11-1 victory over Yoakum. This game was called early due the run rule. They then participated in a 3-day tournament in Somerset February 15th through the 17th. On the 15th, they began with a 13-2 drubbing of Cotulla. They then defeated Pearsall 11-7.

East Matagorda Bay FAIR. 58 degrees. Few days of favorable weather heading into the weekend with southerly winds. Fish between fronts after the high pressure moves over for redfish and trout. Five Cuero High School student athletes participated in National Signing Day last Wednesday, February 7th. In front of an enthusiastic crowd of supporters, which included their families, friends, teammates and fellow students, these five exceptional student-athletes announced which colleges they would attend and play for the next four years.

Nordheim’s Pirates and Lady Pirates continue to play tough

The Pirates and Lady Pirates had a tough week falling short all around but put up a fight. The Pirates are currently tied in 4th place with Pettus with both having one more district game to go. The Pirates will give it their all, Tuesday night at home when they play Austwell-Tivoli, hoping for a win to secure that play-off spot.
