District Gets Underway for the Wildcats

District 31 2A has gotten underway and front runners appear to be Skidmore-Tynan and Kenedy as both teams remain undefeated. This is surprising since the Port Aransas Marlins are ranked 18th in the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches 2A state poll. District 31 2A consists of Kenedy, Skidmore-Tynan, Port Aransas, Refugio, Three Rivers, Woodsboro, and Yorktown.

Kitty Kats Split District Games

The Yorktown Kitty Kats played two district games this past week, winning on the road and losing at home. On Tuesday, January 2, 2024, the Kitty Kats resumed District 31-2A action, as they traveled to Three Rivers to take on the Lady Bulldogs.

The THSCA Academic All-State Teams recognize SENIOR high school athletes, trainers and managers who excel in the following categories: GPA, class rank and ACT/SAT score. Kitty Kats Place 3rd at Louise Tournament

This past Wednesday and Thursday, December 27 and 28, 2023, the Yorktown Kitty Kats competed at the Louise Holiday Classic Basketball Tournament in Louise, Texas, in an attempt to shake off any holiday rust before resuming District 312A play next week.

TPWD Seeks Input on Proposed Changes to Spotted Seatrout Bag, Size Limits

The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) seeks public input on proposed rules which, if passed, would change bag and size limits for spotted seatrout on the Texas coast. The proposed rules would reduce the spotted seatrout bag limit to three fish and restrict the allowable size to 15-20 inches, with one fish over 25 inches allowed daily.

Cuero Boys Take Down Edna

Friday evening, Your Cuero Fightin’ Gobblers boys basketball team took on Edna High School. Both the Varsity and JV teams were victorious in their games.
