Antonio Canas Ordonez, 69, of Cuero passed away Wednesday, April 17, 2024. He was born October 30, 1954 in Cuero to Paul (Pablo) and Rosa M. Canas Ordonez. He married Linda Gale Danish in October of 1983 at Cuero Community Park. He worked as a ranch hand, construction worker and concrete laborer. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and playing dominoes. He loved his coffee, cigarettes and watching westerns.

Marion Johnson, 81, entered into rest on Sunday, April 14, 2024. He was born July 4, 1942 in Cuero, TX to the late Marion and Pearline Shelton Johnson, Sr. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Yoakum, TX.

Alice Brown, 79, of Cuero entered into rest on Tuesday, April 16, 2024. She was born December 28, 1944 in DeWitt County, TX to the late Elroy and Ardelia Cook Franklin. She worked at Brentex Cotton Mill for 25 years; and she was also a member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church.

Aimeé Patrice Burwell, 68, of Houston passed away Thursday, April 18, 2024. She was born December 15, 1955 in Perryton to Paddy Lann and Aimee Lee Mannen Burwell. She earned her Associates Degree in Child Development. Aimeé was a teacher and retired child advocate as well as a school bus driver. Giving back to the school and community was very important to her. She also worked as a private caregiver to elderly and disabled clients. Although her greatest passion was for children, she also had a great love for animals.

Nelda Jean Haschke, 74, of Friendswood, Texas passed away on April 01, 2024, in Webster, TX. Nelda was born on August 26, 1949, in Cuero, Texas to Louis and Anna Kuecker.

Richard Harold Smith went to his heavenly home on April 14, 2024 with his loving family by his side at his home in Cuero, Texas. He was born to Clifford Smith and Lovey Lamerle Smith on February 6, 1936 in Goosecreek, Texas.

Dennis Saunders Sr., 73, of Yorktown passed away Tuesday, April 9, 2024 surrounded by his loving wife and children. He was born January 4, 1951 in Yorktown to the late Eli and Pauline Ann Machost Saunders. He married the love of his life Rita Moore on February 7, 2004.

Dorothy Mae Geffert, 100, passed away on Thursday, April 4, 2024. She was born on January 12, 1924 in Meridian, Mississippi to the late Joseph and Jerdie James Goldman. She was the oldest child and only girl with 7 younger brothers.
