The grand opening of the old Home State Bank building in Westhoff, renovated by the late Deborah Boros, is set for Thursday, Sept. 5, from noon to 7 p.m. at 15 Houston Avenue. Elderly man attacked by dogs
On a Sunday evening as Ronnie Zorn pedaled home from his ritual of a bike ride to Hermanson’s Hall in Yorktown, two stray dogs attacked him. He was almost home to his apartment on Eckhardt Street on June 9 when “a pretty peach-colored pit bull and little, hairy gray dog” attacked him, Zorn said.

Spectrum outage halts business as usual
A Spectrum internet outage on August 28 held up residents and businesses from completing transactions for most of the business day. E-mails, purchases and even phones were affected. The digital version of The Cuero Record and Yorktown News-View was delayed as well.

City water, sewer have urgent repairs
Hopefully, by the time this story publishes, Yorktown’s “Massey” water well on 12th Street will be repaired. If not, the city may need to ask for voluntary rationing of water.

Look for mini cheerleaders at Friday's game
CHS Mini Cheer Camp was held Saturday, August 24th at the High School gym. Over 112 future cheerleaders attended this year’s mini camp. The CHS Cheerleaders taught the young campers cheers, jumps, stunts, a dance and made many lasting memories.

KidsFIRST Launch First Baptist Church will begin a new year of Kids-FIRST on Wednesday, August 28th. Every Wednesday evening during the school year, we offer free supper, worship time, Bible stories, music, and games for ages pre-K 4 through Grade 6.

Pet Adoptions of Cuero has the best selection ever of TEEN pups. This group of adoptables are still under a year old; they have developed their own personalities; made it through all of the needed shots and vet tests; been microchipped and most importantly spayed or neutered. They are heartworm negative and are on a monthly regiment of flea treatments.
