Yorktown students travel through history
From June 1 to June 7, 2024, 17 Yorktown students, parents, a grandparent and a teacher were part of an educational tour of Washington, DC, along with a group from Cuero Junior High. The group was led by Sean Douglas, a teacher in Cuero, and Coach Val Acree, a teacher and coach in Yorktown. One was a Cuero High School ring, and one was a military ring. County’s foster kids need volunteer advocates
DeWitt County currently has 24 children in crisis from 15 families, according to Diana Sneed, program director for Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of the Golden Crescent. “Six of those children do not have a volunteer (advocate,)” Sneed said as she updated the Commissioner’s Court on CASA’s status in DeWitt County before submitting her budget request. 07/16/2024 01:30 PM
